Exciting newsss!

20 December 2008

New dresses, new moves, new Dancers Powers!
How can I resist all this?
Sadly in these long weeks, I was working a lot and my internet connection was down.
I had to change two rooms because London is not being nice with me, even if I love her greatly...

But every now and again I'm having a peek on what's happening on FFXI, even if I'm off for major causes ; ; so I saw it's time to log in for a few times, just to see how the things are going.
Expect me on Fairy soon, just for a short visit I'm afraid... better than nothing though.
Ahaha

Ah.
I miss so much Vana'diel.
Sooo much.

Oh la la

31 October 2008

It's with big pleasure that we announce that this humble blog has become part of the Playonline Community Sites.
Sadly a big connection problem kept this Dancer from dance for you for a long, long time.
And things will not become better since work is keeping me a lot busy.

But, don't despair!
In the next two month I will play very little, but I will try to keep you updated with news and gossips as much as possible and eventually this period will end and I will be able to play a bit more.

In the meanwhile enjoy all the sites you find on the links section, because a lot of them are very valuable and will make your Journey in Vana'diel a lot easier!

Yours truly
Binahel
the silly Dancer

Mission accomplished

20 September 2008

In the end Absolute Virtue was saved. Not due to my poor efforts, to be true...
but at least the mighty King of Aern is "mighty" again. Or sort of.
To commemorate the event I made a button:

Muahahahah...
Ah, button speaking... check this thread. After a long period of laziness I finally decided to make use of my far superior (LOL) photosho skills and I make a handful of buttons like this one:

There is plenty of options for you to enjoy in the thread, plus if you want I can make a special button for you (but be patient because I have a lot of requests... usually take 4 days for a pin to be ready, more if submerged by requests)...
So don't be lazy and go there and check / ask / whatever.
The jobs ones are now the official usable avatars of Blue Gartr muahahah
oh14.gif

I'm working on the races ones now, and then I will be back to make requests for everyone!
Enjoy. And if you like them, send me some cookies!

Remember DNC exp has priority though! bwahahah

And it happened, eventually

14 September 2008

I'm sure you already know, the news is spreading all over Vana'diel carried by the goblins...
Absolute Virtue, formerly the last Boss, the Unbeaten Monster of Promathia, ultimately find his end.
Across all the globe, the poor creature is hunted and zerged like anything else.
No more wondering how he can be defeated, no more strategies to be found, no more questions... now the answer is only one: bring a lot of Dark Knights, a lot of Kraken Clubs and go to zerg like hell.

Yes friends, I know. It's sad to hear that the one unbeaten Beast now collapse in the front of the might of a single weapon, a weapon we know is usually in the hands of the ones who dwell in illicit traffics of gil or money.
It's doubly sad then that the once might Aern, now is simply killed with raw power, not requiring anymore a bit of strategy!

Once again raw power win against brain usage.
Embrace your weapons then, and go else to find something suitable.
Vana'diel once again kneels to the ones who wants everything now.

I know friends, these are dark times.
But we still have some hope for the future, not everything is lost!
Help me and Absolute Virtue in the fight of the Zerg method...
Let's spread you this badge on every FFXI forum.
And let them know you're against this mighty beast extinction!
Let's fight for Vana'diel future ecosystem!

(Save it and host it on Imageshack or photobucket. PLIZ. Don't use this!)

Not far from here, but not close too

1 September 2008

Don't worry friends! Binahel is not vanished from the Vana'diel world.
She's just a bit busy!

This (cat) moved two months ago in London and life it though here!
The main problem is finding a job, while the second one is finding nice people and new friends!
I've been told that moving to a foreign country is challenging and indeed it is, expecially if you're not 100% perfect with the country language!
But my engRish is slowly improving and in a matter of no time I will be a socialite/fashion-victim londoneer and even the locals will not be able to find I'm a foreigner
MUAHAHHA

So, updates on FFXI activities:

  • Due to the long time I passed offline, I choose to move back to Fairi for a while. I really miss my Hades friends, but I will stay here for a little longer, since it was my old server and I want to see how things are here. To be true, Hades is actually a bit better, but looks like Fairy is a bit more active, especially in the LS activities! I will see what happens and keep you updated. I left my RDM on Hades though, her name is Dunizel, so we can stay in contact!
Thanks to the moving I met a lot of old friend, last but not least one of the few people that knows since my first days as THF in Windurst (LOL ages ago).
I got a picture with them and I send them a lot of kisses, hoping to see them again soon!

  • Dancer is slowly but wonderfully growing, hope I will be 75 in a matter of few months!
Tell me if you want to exp! I'm super cute and super pro! (LOL that's a lie actually. But I'm really cute in my AF DNC! Really!)
  • Can't wait for the new udpate which will bring us a new exp method AND the most important thing of all: THE POSSIBILITY TO CHANGE HAIR STYLE!
FInally I will get rid of that old hairstyle and I wll have a new one (still have to decide wich one, though... any idea?)
That's pretty everything for now! I will keep you updated on my quest for work and DNC75 heheh
Cheers mates (as they say here!)

Fashion is the way

23 June 2008

Beside cookies, my other passion is fashion.
Inspired by this magazine

(a wonderful Japanese magazine depicting the best fashion tips for Tarutarus with the quest required to obtain them) I thought I will start today a fashion guide for the FFXI people!
Being a fashionist is not an easy way, at all. It's difficult and time consuming and of course a gil sinker... but it's fashion, as it should be!

So, let's start:

In the first frame we can see a Monk.
Being a monk doesn't allow you to wear such an ugly combination of pieces. A male, expecially a hume, should never, and I say NEVER, wear that harnesses, except in party (Party is a peculiar situation where fashion style can be suspended for Exp reasons °_°) or you will be the at people's mercy. Please have a look at the new equip and I'm sure you will find something more appropriate than bare legs!
Being Galka and Red Mage is a problem.
But not always, as you can see in the second frame. Taken in the Far Eastern capital, this pic is of a famous Galka of the server (Hades) and he's showing a big fashion sense. Goliard is a piece of absolute perfection, matched only by Morrigan, and adding the Duelist Chapeaux is a wonderful fashion idea, and also almost the only headgear a Red Mage should wear. So, fellow RedMages, start NOW your career of fashionist and do a lot of Dynamis, fighting one of the lowest drop of the Dynamis area! Good luck!

The third Frame is me as a Summoner.
This combination of pieces is horrible, but being Campaign is forgivable, since while fighting we can forgive if the equipment is not aesthetically perfect. Almost.
As a Summoner, I know, you have such a little pieces for your body. But why not Vermillion or the AFv1 or v2? Almost everything is better then cheap body! So don't be lazy and go exp or farm!
Your fashion sense will grow a lot fighting trash mobs for a better purpose: to be perfect!

Oh my!

13 June 2008

A lot of new things to do, a lot of old things to set up before I can start this new life.
In the meanwhile I'm having fun with the new update SE gave us few days ago.
I would like to mention the absence of any real Dancer thingy, but since I found the new Missions and the new contents really nice, I guess I will not say a word about it.
We Dancer are still waiting for merits and AFv2 but looks like we will wait a lot for that two.

The new storyline is very very nice. Finally something I can enjoy even if I don't have a whole party of uberFriends to help me.
I was very very angry about COP, not for the fact they were difficult (I do really like challenges) but due to the fact they were "impossible" without a proper group. Looks like SE learned a lot from that distant mistake and it's giving us something that we can enjoy even if on a casual player basis.

When I will be finished with moving (somewhere in September, I believe) I will finally leave the lines of casual players, but since then I'm wondering what this game has to give to people who don't have time to play it properly.
I saw that the new relics are, of course, a big effort to do. And it sounds fine. I'm not the kind of people who need the ultimate weapon to be happy... even if I hoped for something different... and how things looks like for now, the new relics are even more difficult to have than the old ones.

BUT
let's change subject! The FFXI Blog world is full of people speaking of the update and the new items, I leave you to their capable minds!
Me is a Dancer, the silly Dancer, so I give up on complaining and I try to unravel the mysteries  of Vana'diel

Will this be the future that awaits our beloved Windurst? Will we be able to save it from it's future of horror and despair?
What we saw after fighting the battle of La Vaule, is just a vision or an ineluctable that we will have to fight to avoid destruction?

And what this little dancer hide? Is what she claims to be? Another pawn in the scheme of the Royal Feline? Is the cat good or evil?
And, finally, the ultimate question: where are the Champions of the Dawn and what's their place in all this events?

We can't know for sure!
And while waiting, we enjoy a bit of Campaign fun!

I do believe she's a real Mithra!

Meow Meow Meeeeow

Days of intensity

18 May 2008

These were days of intense and rewarding exp.
Beside the boring exp parties I found, I was able to make a lot of nice exp session with a variety of different job combination. Almost in every combination the healer had to sit and watch, due to my super power cures muahahahah

Here you can see me fighting a pink bird with another DNC in party. Wich was a lot less lazy then me and cured a lot! Good lady! ^^
So party after party finally I got my reward:

FULL DANCER ARTIFACT ARMOR! l33t

It's unbelievable cute, I know!
Expecially the shoes, with a little cute red ribbon and a green heart!

But with levels went not only the AF but also
DANCING EDGE
I know, I know, maybe for you this is nothing! BUT you must remember me that I was a Bard, and then a Red Mage and I never ever got Dancing Edge nor I did in any way significant damage to exp mobs.
So, with the help of a couple of flourish, I'm able to do a solo skillchain and that's thrilling for me, beside the fact the damage output is not bad at all

A small toke compared to proper DD jobs, but since this is my first melee job, i'm more then happy with this: my very first Dancing Edge!
Now I will study how this ws work and maybe I will be able to collect some equipment to make it stronger!

Then, running like a chocobo (Chocobo Jig ftw) in the streets of our beloved Windurst, I made an unexpected encounter:

Sylbianna the silly scholar! She was fishing and after some chitchat and a dozen of emote, I had to wave goodbye because it was too late for me!
Happy to see you again Sylbichan! <3

Guess who's back

10 May 2008

A lot of things are changing in my life... some are for good, other for bad. But the changes are a force to reckon with so I follow the wave and I see where it leads me.

I started to play again, and nothing really interesting happened, so I'm merely posting a pic to  celebrate the most funny and fast party I ever had with DNC: a 100% Mithra party!

As you can see, it's a Mithra feast, and we were soo fast that the WHM had almost nothing to do except letting the dog out.
For Altana! We had a very competent Thief, a lovely DRK and I'm really starting to thing that DNC make the difference in a party. I'm now in the same level range that my SMN and I can clearly see that as Dancer I'm making this mythical difference (more or less as much I'm doing it as a BRD)! muahahahah
It's overwhelmingly funny and I hope I will be 60 soon, to wear my full AF!
For now I'm a proud owner and wearer of the magical:

A red rose shines on my head.
Yeaaaaah!

Even if I'm back

18 April 2008

It's not only work wich is keeping me away from beloved FFXI.
I've got a project, for the near future. I want to go to London for a while, a long while if I will be able, a little while if things will not start properly.
I don't have any particular expectation, beside the possibility of doing shopping in Camden Town.
Muahahahah

By the way, be ready.
Binahel will be back soon, before it's time to move to London I will have a few weeks of tight work and little free time I will invest in exping Dancer.

I want to spread the pink of Dancers everywhere in Vana'diel.
I was a bard, I know good stories. I will now dance in front of the fire once the stories are finished.

A virtual tour in my humble Mog

14 March 2008

Everything started right here, in a normal sunny day of our beloved Windurst.
Suddengly Moggles popped everywhere and told us it was time to go to hunt for eggs!
I couldn't say no, as you know I like events too much to miss one of them!
So I took my festival suits and I venture out to the gate to see what the moogles want me to do.
What I saw was a terryfing mess of bodies, fighting alongside to reach the poor overhelmed Moogle...

The invasion started right under my eyes and I couldn't do anything but watching helplessly the poor moogle abused by the maddened people looking for eggs (I thought that everyone knew that moogles don't hatch eggs, but looks like I was wrong).

After a lot of exchanges anda few cheap buys (meh I hate people who sell eggs, but I think I will have to too, since I'm so broke that 10k would be something more than welcome) I get finally my reward for the day

A lovely new useless but cute thingy to put on top of my bookshelf. Isn't it adorable?
Tomorrow I will try for another object and then I will be done!

But since I was there in my Mog, with my Mooggle chatting how much Vanadielers are rude when time of events coms, I thought: why not show to everyone my little humble nice Mog House?
Yeah!
So here it goes.
This are all pieces I collected in a lot of years of play. Someone has attached old memories, someone was a gift and someone I bought on the AH when I was if not rich at least wealthy.
O_O

Let's start with bookshelves. As you can see I like to read! And I like silly lamps and christmas tree (wich is there because I'm too lazy to move it and the moogle is too lazy to).
I have a complete collection of History of Vana'diel, plus a few rare books on the places I like (Uggalepih Temple, Altepa and Quicksand and so on...)

right near the bookshelves there is a replica of the Windurst planetarium. I like it, but I must admit it's too huge and I could use that space for something better. But being broke makes necessary to do what we can with what we have. Hence is the planetarium wich was, I tell you, a gift (= for free)!

Just after that panel you can see my bed. It's comfortable but pretty ugly, I know. I had a really better bed but it was larger and richer and I had to sell it because it was full of memories I didn't want to sleep with any given day. Near the bed a bookholder, since I like to read in bed until I fall asleep and the Moogle turn off the fire (with a mini version of blizzard!).

Here there is my favourite pieces: personal things, perfumes and also a little blue box that contains my only r . It's a story I will not tell here or in the near future, but that's the most precious thing I have and it makes me a bit sad when I open it, but also happy because brings me good memories togheter with bad ones.
I should find a better accomodation, like some eastern furniture. But they are damn expensive!

Last but not least the living section, where I eat and play with fishes and where I also put my clothes!
You can see me in all my Yukata splendor for a final "wave" to you, my immaginary visitor!

And at the end, finally, I was able to "see" Sylbianna online! We couldn't meet because I couldn't move from Windy and she was stuck in Bastok.
But we talked a bit and she told me I'm a good Dancer! Muahahahah
oh69.gif oh69.gif image by binahel

So, to show my power, I did a bit of motion near the egg-addicted crowd.
And I stroke a pose or two!

That was a kinda normal Binahel day: full of nothing really usefull, but funny!

Maybe is not time

1 March 2008

Maybe is not time for an update on the blog, because to be true I'm not doing anything special beside exping DNC.
But would be a lie, since in these days I'm trying a lot of new things...
First of all Campaign Battles and Campaign Ops. Well I'm not a big fun of the battles, but it's nice to do a camp op in a place where there is a battle running to bring help or items to the fortification (and the allied notes you get are really a plus ^^)

While I was there, there was a RDM, a really really fast RDM... and she was so fast that I had to see what she was wearing. Beside staves +1 (of course) she had

For all of you still new to the game, these are a really really hard to get equipment.
That made me a bit sad, because reminded me of what this game is, of how is complicated and sometimes frustrating... I know I will never be able to achieve this objects, because I lack too much things to do and I also lack the immense time needed to gather everything one needs for this objects.
Seeing her being so fast in casting, so nice in the whole attire, was like to see something I will never be able to do (not only for the time but also for the skill required to be part of groups that do cop dreamlands and salvage in the ruins).

Beside the fact there is nothing so extremely beautiful for BRD or DNC (at least from an high level point of view).

Damn SE give us more DNC equip! NOW!

So too cheer me up I eat too much chocolate chip cookies. muahahahah
And I exped DNC and I reached 50 and maybe now I will start to partecipate in some Campagin with DNC while lfp. Exciting!

A party finally after 3 days of waiting

28 February 2008

Meh, I really feel like a DRG (at least a DRG of the old past times, when nobody wanted them except me lol) waiting for party for hours.

Yesterday I couldn't exp at all, so I made some missons, quests, a little boring besieged with BRD, but I mainly was LFP for Dancer because I would like to finish it as soon as possible.
Finally an invite arrived but after 1 hr I was kicked out by my ISP and the the flat had a massive blackout. Very funny.
I went logged in again and I was obviosly replaced... But a miracle happened: I got an invite and I WASN'T lfp.
I think I almost cried, since that reminded me the nice (and not so distant) days of mad brd exp.
So we were exping and doing our good work and suddenly a GM popped

No idea for what or for who, she was just there talking with whoever called her ( I suppose)...
and that's all... because after that the party disbanded soon and I just hit 47 with no hope to reach 48 or better 49 for today.
I'm speaking only of exp. It's kinda boring. Expecially becasue I'm not a really exp person lol. But Dancer is such an awesome and interesting job that I want to have it 70+ as soon as I can.
So forgive me! I will start to speak of something interesting very soon, believe me!

Now it's time for a bit of spam:
go to visit Gracie!
he's a very cute and funny Tarutaru and I do like a lot how he write (I think english it's his main language, lucky him) bacause he makes me always smile.

so much things to say, so little time

24 February 2008

Here I am. Today I have to work seriously, so I will skip the daily exp for a session of hard Photoshop works (T-T)
So let me show the most peculiar moments of these few days, with the help of a few, self commenting pics.

Me in a Toraimarai Canal run (alone) dressed like a stupid for a rank mission (just changed from Sandy to Windy). lol
Went there WHM 37 because I dont F34R you shilly shkeletons... and sneak was a way better sticking then my RMD75 sneak (thank you SE for the total randomness of this spell).
For reasons unknown Toraimari Canal was a dungeon who scared the bejeuzes out of me, but not anymore... due to an extensive key hunt with the RDM, i became pretty familiar with the mobs here and I know it's a really simple dungeon, providing that you find a safe place in wich to recast silly-willy sneak.
Now I walk the strett of Toraimarai as I walk the street of London

Without the /panic part, of course.

Here you can see me shouting for 2-3 Dragon Fight in Horlais Peak, a thing (shouting) I stopped to do in 2003 when I found a lovely LS with a lot of nice and good members.
Now the days of shouting are back, because almost all of my friends deleted and even if now I' on Tanaii, a really lovely and funny LS, it's just a social LS so we aren't doing a lot of events.
But it's alsways nice to beg for help in public

heheh

Here I found some poor souls (<3<3<3 some of them are with me since I started to play) to help me on ZM8 (<3<3<3).
I must thank them and also Ethna adn Perikles for helping me destroying the enemy of that mission. Also forgive me for my dumbness, since I was the guide and I said: yes I know the way ... and we get lost LOL, so very me.
Being a BRD I always feel very useless during missions although.

Maybe because I am useless indeed.

Now you can see me waiting for MP to raise poor Feelin who died, due to my total suckyness, on the pot we duoed (or better, she soloed with a little help of my songs).
Thank you very much to Feelin too, not also for the help here but also for she's such a funny mithra and she always make me laugh until my cheek hurts.

Last but not least, me on sky on a wrong teleport. After like thirty minutes spent going around like a chicken, I finally managed to find the right one to come home.
I know, I have teleport for being /WHM, BUT that place is full of magic aggro pots... really really full, so I had not place in wich to safely cast a spell.
Plus was funny to wonder without any idea of where I was. I liked.

Now It's late and my work awaits me.
Take care.
And remember that in a party with me, death it's sure. But it's always funny.
